The Navamsa Chart is

used to judge the
strength of the planets in
the Main or Rasi Chart.
The Sign a planet ends
up in here, and the Lord
of that Sign, and the
House all say something
about the strength of
that planet where it sits
in the Rasi Chart. For
example, if a planet is in
the same sign in both
charts, then it is termed
"Vargotama", which
means it is strengthened
by this in the Rasi Chart,
and therefore it's effects
are more likely to be felt.

The "Moon Rising" chart

is simply the Rasi Chart
rotated so that the moon
in the first house. This
way, you can easily see
the house distances of all
planets from the moon.
This is also a valid way to
judge the Rasi Chart,
especially in regards to
understanding the way
the mind will see things,
as the moon represents
the mind. The distance
planets are from the
moon is also an
important part of the
overall chart reading
process.
