Introduction
Can you imagine an immigration officer knocking down your door in search to deport
your loved ones? Latinos go through this everyday. Most families in the Spanish world that live
here in America, come because they are hoping for better opportunities in their lives, for a
change. But most times they do not get the freedom that they deserve because of illegally being
here. In this article, I will be explaining how families have gone through this and have not been
ok with the separation, so they have changed the atmosphere around them because they have
fought and still are to change the way the government deals with illegal immigrants, and are
hoping for an extraordinary change.

Facts on Immigration
Immigration is a serious cause that a lot of people are fighting for. There have been
immigrants coming since the 1400s, which first started with Columbus and the colonists from
Spain. There are over 11.7 million illegal immigrants living in the United States. 28% of the
country is build up with illegal hispanics, 18% is Jamaican, and 47% are Chinese immigrants.
There have been thousands of immigrants that have been deported back to their original
country. But there have been several changes to this and immigrants won't stop until they get
freedom to live in America without fear of being deported.

Jose Antonio's Story

18 year old Jose Antonio Machado is a teen activist, fighting for his mother's freedom
from deportation. At the young age of 15, he was forced to watch an immigration officer take
his mother captive back to Mexico. Since he had no one else except for his twin brother, Jose
Manuel and himself became 2 out of 5,100 children whose parents are either in detention, or
already deported. As a result they were immediately placed in a foster home. However, he
was never sad or depressed of being torn apart from his mother or that he was placed in a
foster home because he knew that he was once again going to see the face of his mother and
determined that their family would once again be reunited. Therefore, after three years of
hard work and meeting with many men such as Trump and Zuckerberg, he was at last
reunited with the women he most loved, and to this day he is still fighting for many other
families so that they will never go through the experience he and his family went through.

Limas Story

Carmen Lima was separated from her father at the young age of 10, due to illegal

matters. She was left in America with her mother and a hard life ahead of her. Her voice was
heard when she
Crashed John Boehner's Breakfast. She showed up at Petes Diner which
was where John Boehner was found waiting for his breakfast to be served. Lima and a friend
approached Mr.Boehner and asked if they could join him, but he declined their request. But
that didn't stop them from what they were about to do.
So how would you feel if you had to tell
your kids at the age of ten that you were never coming home? Lima questions Boehner. This

shows how determined she was to know why he was against illegal immigrants. She continued
by telling him, her personal story about how her father was taken away from her when she
was just a little girl, and needed her father most at that point of her life. Even though Limas
father never returned, every day she keeps fighting for her and her mother's life here in
America hoping that one day she'll be face to face again with her
father
.

My Story
My parents immigrated from Guatemala in the 1980s, before I was born. They told me
that when they first came it was very hard for them because they were illegally here, because
they feared that they would get sent back to Guatemala. But they've told me that It's been God's
grace that has brought us all this way. They say this because they were almost here for 21
years with living in America illegally and were never caught. BUt one day they decided no more
of this life and even though they knew it would take a long and complicated process they would
still did not give up on there dreams. Months passed and finally the day came that they were
approved to legally live in the U.s. It was one of the happiest times in the family. My parents no
longer had to fake things or lie about themselves because they were finally free from all of that,
and my mom had the opportunity to enroll in Mass Bay and finish the classes she never got to
finish in Guatemala, and my dad was able to receive his licence and apply for a new and better
job than he had before, and to this day they are still very thankful for the opportunity of being
accepted out of the hundreds of people that applied that very day.

Conclusion
To conclude this article, immigrants should have a right to be living in America. It's time
for a change in America, rights for everyone to live here. This country is supposed to be a
free land and its time to put that word in action, and start with the immigrants because they
have been dealing with rejection in the America since 1492 and its times to put a stop to it and
fight for immigrants, because what if it was you?
