Comprehends what is read with the pictures
Enjoys having stories read and re-read to him/her

Recognizes letters that start with the

same letter as their name

4. Understanding the meaning of a story:

Relating their own experience to the

story
Uses his/her own experiences

(TV shows, movies)

5. Grammar Rules:
Understand the meaning of grammar
Children learn to read when they are

ready!
Readiness skills are vital to a

successful pre-reading process.
