Winter Season
1 Winter season comes in the month of October, November , December and January.
2 At some places there is snow fall.
3 In winter, days are short and nights are long.
4 We feel cold so we wear woollen clothes.
5 Some people use heater or light fires to protect themselves from the cold.
6 We like to drink hot drinks and eat warm food.
7 We eat fresh vegetables, fruits and dry fruits to keep us fit and healthy.
8 We celebrate Uttarayan and Christmas in this season.
A Railway Station
1 A railway station is a place from where trains stop and go.
2 Many people work at the railway station.

3 We buy tickets from the booking windows or internet.


4 We see porters carry luggage of the passengers.
5 People use escalators.
6 We see bookstalls, tea stalls , hawkers, waiting or rest room, lift, clock etc.
7 A guard blows the whistle and gives the signal to the train.
8 A ticket checker checks the tickets of the passengers.
9 It is a very busy public place.
Uttarayan
1 Uttarayan is the festival of kites.
2 It always falls on 14th January.
3 On this day people worship cows and give alms to poor people.
4 People eat til laddud, chikkies, berries, guavas and sugarcane.
5 People use spindles to fly kites and tukkals in the night.
6 People enjoy flying kites on their terraces and on the open ground.
7 Old and young , rich and poor enjoy this festival.
