Dear Senior Portfolio Committee,

I am writing this cover letter for the approval of my Senior Portfolio and to begin a career
in music following two years of post-secondary education at American River College.
I am an aspiring musician and would like to work in the Worship industry before
beginning my own acapella group in the future. Throughout my High School career, I have taken
steps to becoming a musician such as serving on several worship bands; which date back to my
sophomore year. To enhance and to further improve my music skills, I joined Buckinghams jazz
ensemble when I was a junior and joined the vocal ensemble this school year. Moreover, I
decided to apply for the Buckingham Student Council as a student council representative to
improve my leadership skills.
Aside from my passion in music, I took tough courses my Freshmen, Sophomore, and
Junior years of high school. These courses included Geometry, Biology, Algebra II, Pre Calculus,
Spanish II, and Chemistry. I tried my hardest to understand the material in spite of the physical
grade which I received in the courses. I put forth hard work behind the scenes to try to
understand the material. I have also served my surrounding community by doing volunteer work
at Habitat for Humanity, my church, and at my own school.
I plan on attending a community college to earn my Associates degree in music business.
In the years following community college, I plan on applying for and being hired to a good day
job so that I may have my evenings free for my passions, hobbies, and friends and family.
Furthermore, I plan on starting an acapella group which I can write songs and book gigs with.
All of this to say, I look forward to the Senior Portfolio committees acceptance of my
portfolio
and to start a new chapter of my life following my graduation on June third of 2016.
