Spring Leadership Conference:

Bloom With Us!
The purpose of the Leadership
Training Conference is to provide
the preliminary training and support
necessary for incoming chapter
presidents, treasurers, membership
chairs, communication chairs, EEC
chairs, and all EEC umbrella
committee chairs to feel prepared to
serve chapters confidently and
knowing they have support from
their state leaders.
The conference also serves to
provide the opportunity for
members to explore personal
interest in leadership or other areas
of interest for which sessions are
provided.
The conference begins at 7 PM
Friday, April 29, with a keynote
address by a very special guest. This
will be a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity for most of us. Our
guest will stay for a dessert

day. The day will end for all at 3.

Message from the President

DONT MISS A CHANCE TO LEARN, GROW, FELLOWSHIP, AND REENERGIZE

Spring is my favorite season of

the year--especially in Psi
State! Events are blooming,
and I am filled with
excitement.

Hill Plantation, and Swamp

Gravy and dont forget the
food! I hope you will join me
for a wonderful weekend of
fellowship and learning.

DeltaHostel moves from the

fall to spring, giving us an
opportunity to experience the
nature, history, and beauty of
Georgia in a new way. I am
excited about seeing an area
of the state with which I am
not familiar. I am eager to see
the Colquitt murals, Pebble

District meetings are

undergoing an amazing
transformation from a districtcentered event to a state-wide
conference. As you can see
from the conference
highlights, opportunities
abound for personal and
professional development as

well as important training for

chapter officers and
committees. There is truly
something for everyone. In
between all the other
workshops, Executive Board
will be held to conduct
important matters. Official
business requires a quorum, so
current presidents are needed!
Dont miss a chance to learn,
grow, fellowship, and
reenergize!

SILENT AUCTION
Besides the many training opportunities
at the Spring Leadership Conference in

by the Global Impact Committee (who
will donate to World Fellowship) and
the 2017 Convention Committee (who
will use proceeds to offset convention
expenses).
For this event to be a success, we need
the support of each Psi State chapter.
We are requesting that each chapter in
Psi State donate at least one theme
basket for the auction.
Setup will begin on Friday and
Continue Saturday. The big reveal for
each basket will be Saturday (time to be
announced).

Convention Committees.

GeorgiaGram: The Potential and Pitfall of

Technology to the Masses in Psi State
IMAGINE SENDING AN EMAIL TO 3,000 SISTERS
Recently the Georgia State
Organization attempted to
open a direct communication
link from President Gail
Springstead to all members via
email. This attempt provided
useful information for future
communication.
Our database of member email
addresses came from
International. The first
observation of this list was that
email addresses for over 900
members did not appear on the
profile printout. Also, when

the Georgia Gram was emailed to

the remaining membership,
approximately 20% were
returned due to either a)
incomplete email addresses, b)
not recognized by member
email providers, or c) were
blocked by some schools or
institutions.
Sending a document to nearly
3,000 members is difficult.
Even if technical issues can be
solved, one overriding issue can
only be solved by individual
members. Each member must

go to the International Profile

site at dkg.org, open MyDKG,
and up-date her personal
information. Username and
password can be provided by
your chapter president.
The Communication
Committee will continue to
explore technology that will
allow us the capability to
communicate more directly
with members.
