Delta Kappa Gamma - Alpha Delta Chapter

Minutes February 11, 2016

The Alpha Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met Thursday, February 11, 2016 at
Thomas County Public Library in Thomasville, GA. President Jan Westberg opened our meeting and
welcomed everyone. Faith Shiver presented our inspiration. She shared that the steps of Wake
Up, Dress Up, Shut Up, Stand Up, Look Up, Reach Up, Lift Up, and Step Up were important to
mentor, love, and encourage those around us.
Reports: The minutes were presented and accepted. Deborah Fiveash gave the treasurers report.
The balance in our chapter account is $441.47 as of February 11, 2016. A printed treasurers
report was available at the meeting. The Non-Dues Revenues Committee is continuing to look at
projects to bring in revenue without increasing dues.
Membership/Attendance: Eighteen chapter members were in attendance.
Program: Lisa Gilligan presented our program, Staying Abreast with DKG on the Web. She reviewed
Web sites, Twitter, and Facebook use as a way to stay connected to DKG International.
Nominations and Voting for New Members: Members gave information about prospective
members who are on the ballot. Those present voted directly following any discussion.
Upcoming DeltaHostel: Members signed up to help provide food items for the Psi State
DeltaHostel picnic that will be held in March. Members were also encouraged to sign up to
participate in the hostel if they had not already done so.
Feature: Our monthly feature was a tulip plant. Robin Shaver was the winner.
Next Meeting: Our next meeting will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Southern Regional
Technical College hosted by Mitchell County Schools and Southern Regional Technical College. We
will also be awarding our ECE Scholarships, initiating new members, and installing new officers.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned after singing our Delta Kappa Gamma
song.
