It will be an interesting journey to the world of educational technology. A chance to visit and observe
a learning resource center of a school will start you off.
For this process, explore the world through these steps:
Step 4: Write down a brief reflection of
your experience.
Step 3: Make an inventory of its available
resources and classify them according to their
characteristics and functions.
Step 2: Ask the learning resource center in-charge
about how some equipment or facilities are used.
Step 1: Visit a schools learning resource center. Look
around and see what resources and facilities are available
inside.

Impression:
I can say that using some learning resources inside the classroom actually helps the students
improvements in terms of reviewing and also in knowing some topics with the guide of the teacher and
also in this way, the teacher will not explain the topic repeatedly because the students will just read and
follow the instruction .

Name and Signature of Learning Resource Center In-Charge: Mrs. Erlinda Dela Vega

Your Analysis
1. Were the Learning resources/materials arranged properly according to their functions and
characteristics?
As I observe, the learning materials are used according to their functions, the books are
properly used. And it serves as a guide of the teacher in teaching the students.
2. Do the guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by the teachers? Why?
or Why not?
I think that the teacher used properly the instructional materials because as I observe in the
learning resources such as the SIM and book, wherein the SIM is used in the remedial or a review of
the past lessons.
3. What are the strengths of this Learning Resource Center?

The strengths of using this material is that the teacher will just guide the students regarding
the topic which they used some learning resourceful of thr school. So that we can conclude that, in
the part of the teacher it will be much easier to teach using those learning resources.
4. What are its weaknesses?
The weaknesses of using those resources, is that the teacher cannot guide all his students
because they can guide students one at a time and if there are some questions that the students might
ask or want to clarify, the teacher will not easily accommodate the students.
5. What suggestions can you make?
I can actually say that the learning resources or materials used by the teacher is very helpful and this
shows advantages in the case of learning of students, I can suggest that they can make the activity easy of we
cleared the criteria or expectations that the teacher wants yp see so that it can be easy for the students to know
where they have to focused.

Your Reflections
1. Which of the materials in the learning resources caught your interest the most? Why?
Honestly, the learning materials that used by the teacher I was observe that interest me is the
Strategic Intervention Materials or SIM, the topic is all about the Similar Triangle which is from Mrs.
Mackay property, this interest me because as I remember my professor ask us about this material and
we don't know what is this materials then, there's a time that Mrs. Mackay give me an opportunity to
read the SIM and I was so amazed because this material really guides the student and it is interesting
because theres a guide is a guide card that will make the students understand well the topic. But as
the principle of teaching state: No instructional material can replace a teacher, because this material
will need the guidance of the teacher.
2. Which gadgets/materials are you already confident to use/operate?
I can say that the materials I am confidently used or operate is the PowerPoint presentation,
because I am enjoying using it and I am very much aware how to used it, because I started using it
when I was in high school and I was able to stay at the Computer Laboratory just to use the
PowerPoint presentation.
I am also confident in making some visual aids that I can used in teaching my students, because I
really enjoy making visual aids.
3. Which one do your feel need to learn more about?
I really want to learn more about the Strategic Intervention Materials because for me it is my
pleasure to learn that learning resources because it is very useful today and it is quite easy for a
teacher to facilitate using the SIM.
4. Read an article about your answer in number. Paste a copy of the article below.

Strategic Intervention Material is an instructional material for remediation purposes is one of

the solutions employed by the Department of Education to enhance academic achievement of
students performing low in the field of Mathematics.
Using this article, I now understand how this material is used and as stated there it is used in a
remedial student who actually do not get the topic, then because of that reason they can used the
SIM. The positive effect of giving them this activity is that they will learn according to what the SIM
taught to them, because this material has a guide that will lead them to know the topic that they have
difficulty.

Your Analysis
1. Did the board display design reflect the likes/interests of its target audience? Why? or Why not?
I think the bulletin will not easily get the attention of the students because the bulletin is not updated,
but if they improve the information that they going to include in the bulletin board I think it will be much
nice and organized.
2. Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to understand? Why? or Why not?

As I see the bulletin board in the school I was observed it hits the target of the students because I
know on my own that when I see the bulletin board of the school I see the bulletin. And I was amaze on the
achievement of the school. The bulletin also includes the teacher and the head teacher which are teaching
Mathematics.
3. What do you think was the purpose of the board display? Was it effective? Why? or Why not?
The purpose of the bulletin board is to be able to give some informations that the students must know
regarding the school and the Mathematics Department of the school, even the board passers of the school.
Letting them know some of it, will be amaze and inspire.
4. What suggestions can you make?
I can suggest that they can used some attractive colors so that it will cope the attention of the
students. And making fonts much bigger will make the students read about some important details about the
bulletin board.

Based on your suggestions, purposed an enhanced version of the display board. Use the form
below.

Board Title: Top 10 students Bulletin Board

Objectives: At the end of the grading period, students will know who
will be the top 10 students in their section. In that way,
students are encouraged to give their best to see their names
posted in the bulletin board.

Best features of my purposed bulletin enhancement:

The students goal is to top the class and the only way to do that is to
work hard in their academic and non-academic works at school.

Content Resources (Name each needed resource and give each a brief
description)
Record of Scores (examination, quizzes, activities, and seatworks)

Materials for aesthetic assessment:

Cardboard
Colored papers
Cut-out pictures and papers about Mathematics

This is the bulletin layout of me and my group we design this so that it will
be able to attract students because as you can see it is a pin ball game. For me, it is
really attractive for the students because youre just hitting two birds with one
stone here, because the students will enjoy the bulletin at the same time they are
learning about the Statistics.
This is the first time that I made a bulletin board and I am so proud to my
classmates and also to my classmates because of the successfulness of the bulletin
that we have made.

Based on your suggestions, make your own board display la-out. You may present your output
through any of these:
A hand-made drawing or lay-out
An electronic (computer) drawing/illustration or la-out
A collage

Your Reflections
1. Name at least 5 skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with effective board
displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.
To have a effective board displays a teacher must be: First, creative, so that the bulletin that
we will create will be attractive to the eyes of the students. Second and third, the teacher, must be
knowledgeable and effective, so that the details that the teacher will include is informative so that this
will help students to have a additional knowledge that they can get on the bulletin you have create. The
Fourth is being a resourcefulness, as we all know money are not totally important, because it is the way
of expressing your talents in recycling materials, transforming it into much useful way. Lastly, is a goaloriented, you have to set a particular goal to be able to have a desire on finishing the task.
2. Which of the skills do you already have? Recall your past experiences in making bard displays.
How do you practice these skills?

As we make bulletin board with my classmates I really want our bulletin be informative and
creative. Informative because I want the students to learn more about the topic which is statistics.
Creative, because I want to get their attention using the bulletin that we made. As I recall, my experience
on making the bulletin, I can say that I used my imagination to have creative and informative bulletin
board.
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? Reflect on how you can improve on or acquire these
skills.
I think the skill which is a fast thinker because in my ability to think about what we have to do

Maybe, the teacher used it because some of her students did not cope the lesson, that's why
she decided to used SIM as a learning materials because it is easy for them to understand, because
the directions are there and also it is a guide.
2. What difficulties, if any, did the teacher experience? How can this be managed?
I think, it is the clarification of what the students going to do on the material given to them
because as I observe the students are asking on what shall they do.
3. Over-all, were the learning resources/materials used effectively? Why? Why not?
Yes, because the slow learners will not be late on the topic because of the Sim or the Strategic
Intervention Material. And the fast learners will much better understood the topic.

Your Analysis
Give at least three benefits of doing a survey of available materials before making your own
materials? Explain each.
1. It will give us an idea on what's the best learning materials that we can be used in a certain
topic, in that way we can improve the materials that we have.
2. Wewill know if the learning materials fits the lesson that your going to discussed, because as we
all know the materials a d activities that we are going to used must fits are desired goal.
3. We also have to check the availability of the materials because there are some vases that the
materials or slme electronic materials are jot responsive, not supported, corrupted , etc. That is
why we have to check it, before we going to used it.

Your Reflections
1. Which of the materials did you like making the most? Why?
I think I will enjoy doing some PowerPoint presentations and some learning resources
that will be using the drawing skills, because o really want to draw, and I want to enhance it.
2. What difficulties, if any, did you encounter in making the materials? How did you overcome them?
There's a time that I used a application in computer which is the updated Adobe
Photoshop, and I am not familiarize on the application, there are so many functions, I can say
that knowing better about some relayed application will easily help you in the field of teaching.
3. What tips can you give teachers regarding preparation of teaching materials?
As a future teacher, we must first satisfy and clarify the availability pf the materials that
your going to use. For example, you are about to used PowerPoint presentations for your
discussions on the classroom, you have first check of there's something wrong on your
presentation.

Your Target
At the end of this activity, you will gain competence in preparing instructional materials (hand-outs)
that are appropriate to the learning content.

Your Map
With a lot of reflective thinking coupled with your creativity, you can design hand-outs that will truly
work well to make learning effective. You will see that preparing hand-outs is not just any paper work.
When you produce high quality hand-outs and eventually try them out, you will discover that, indeed, paper
works! To reach your target, follow these steps below:
Step 3: Present it to your FS Teacher
before producing it.

Step 2: Describe your hand-outs.

Your Analysis
After working with your hand-out, answer the following questions:
What are the good features of a hand-out?
As a student, hand-outs really help us, especially when we are reviewing somecof the past topics that we
have an examination. In this way the hand-outs really helps us, another is you will easily see what are the
important details in the topic because it is highlighted.
Which of these features are present in the hand-out 1 made?
Allof the features are included on the hand-outs that I have made. Because I want my future students to
have a part on the hand outs that I have made.
Which features are not present in the hand-out 1 made?
None. Because all the features are included in my hand outs for my students.

Your Reflections
1. What difficulties, if any, did you encounter in making the hand-outs? How did you overcome them?
In making the hand-outs, for me its hard to do it because you have to your students
capabilities in analyzing the hand-outs you did. That's why fore it is difficult to make it. But in
overcoming the difficulty in making that, you have to trust yourself first and think hat your doing it
not because you have to, but you're doing it to inspire your students.
2. What tips can you give teachers regarding preparation of hand-outs?

I can give tips to the teacher like: teachers must satisfy the students capabilities in knowing
the topic that indicate in the Hand-outs you have made. They can leave some blanks in the hand-outs
so that the students may have a part in the discussion wherein they will answer the blanks then you're
going to give the answers just to make sure that they are all listening.

Your
Analysis
After
working on
your slide

presentation, answer the following questions:

What are the good features of the slide presentation?
One of the good features of using a slide or PowerPoint presentations is that it will be easy for you to
discussed your topic with less writings on the board, also all of the important details are inserted there so
that the students have to read it so that they can understand. But the slide presentations are limitedly used in
the field of Mathematics because its hard to explain a solving problems without writing on the board, and it
is hard to understand if all the Solutions are in the slide presentation.
Which of these features are present in the slide presentation you made?
All the features of my presentations are there even the hyperlink, music, graphics, animations, fonts,
textbox, I also used some pictures and also some gradients or effects.
Which features are not present in the slide presentation you made?

None, because all of the features are included in my PowerPoint presentation.

Your Reflections
1. What difficulties, if any, did you encounter in making the slide presentation? How did you overcome
them?
I think, i have no difficulty in making a slide presentation because I practiced it when I was in high
school, if there's, someday I will actually know it, in the right time. But as of now, I have no
difficulty in making slide presentations.

STRENGTHS

WEAKNESSES

I think the strength of this

website is that students might
be able to assess using this
website much esier.

The weakness is that the

website gives just a simple
activities for kids only, maybe
the can give activities for
much higher grade or in high
school.

Please write your reflections on your FS Experience on this page.

Based on my experience, in the Field Study, I really learn so much
basically about how to handle the students when in the field of teaching. I learn
strategies that I may use when I am in the field of teaching the subject Mathematics.
Although, I knew that students have its own individual differences. So that, it will be
hard for me because I have to get the attention of my students for them to learn about
the topic I have discussed.
My Demo Teaching is very enjoyable but I feel nervous when I'm at the
front but I have to act as their teacher not just an ordinary students. I managed the
students which is the Accountancy students, I am very happy when I am with them,
teaching the about the complex fractions and hopefully they learned something from
me.
There was a time during demonstration teaching day, I have been
unfocused because I have used a permanent marker in the white board, i felt nervous
that time, I don't know what to do because I have set my activity which is group
activity, but Thank God it was successful, I am not Re-Demo at the first lace, that's
why my day that time was perfect. I am so happy that time. :)
Moving on, another semester is done, another field study is also done.
This is an unforgettable experience.
