The advanture movie, "Cast Away" produced by Robert Zemeckis and written

by William Broyles Jr., won 15 movie awards and had a number of 35 nominations in
year 2000 to year 2001. Starring by Tom Hanks as Chuck Noland, a FedEx employee
who is marooned on a deserted island nowhere of the South Pacific Ocean after his
plane crushed into the sea in a storm. With the natural resources gathered around the
island, the FedEx packages washed to the shore of the island and Wilson the vollyball
as his companion, Chuck managed to survive for 4 years on the island. Until one day,
Chuck managed to escape from the island with a wooden raft he built in his will to
reunite with his fiance, Kelly Frears, played Helen Hunt.

Before the production of the movie, Tom Hanks had to put on 50 lbs to make
him looks like a middle-aged man. To continue the production on the scene that
Chuck lived on the island 4 years later, the production stopped for a year to have Tom
Hanks to lose 55 Ibs, and grow his beard and hair. During the year-long hiatus, Robert
Zemeckis used the same film crew to produce another movie.

Wilson the volleyball played an interesting and unique character in the movie.
William Broyles Jr. created the Wilson from the inspiration he found during his
research for the movie that he practically survived on an isolated beach for one week.
During that time, he found a volleyball washed up on the shore and inspired him for
the character, Wilson. In fact, Wilson's existance in the movie made Chuck Noland's
dialogue available under one-person-only-situation.
