__Thiswasa9thand10thgradebeginnerslessondemonstratingdaytimemakeup.Priortotodays
lesson,theintroductionfortodaywasaclassdiscussionaboutallofthedifferentcareeropportunities
thatareavailablewiththeknowledgethattheyhadbeenreceivingoverthelastfourdays.Wespoke
aboutworkinginsalons,highendspas,departmentstore,travelingmakeupartist,andmuchmore.I
wasverysurprisedastudentevennamedakiosk.TherewasaninterruptionwhentheschoolDirector
neededtospeaktome.BeforespeakingwiththeDirector,thestudentswereinstructedtopickouttheir
productsandmaterials,buttheywerenottosetuporstartuntilIreturned.Whenwestartedthevideo
again,Inoticedthatthebatterieshaddiedandthestudentswereeagertogetstarted.Afterreplacingthe
batteries,IstartedthelessonwereIhadleftoff.Overthelastfourdaysthestudentshadbeenworking
withtheproductsonpaperactivitiessuchas;lipcorrectionsusinglipliner,eyesandeyeshadow,also
usingeyeliner,faceshapesandcontouring.

SuggestionsforImprovementofLessonPresentation:
_____AsIwatchedthevideo,InoticedthatIhadalotofquitetime.Iwillbemoreawareoftryingto
speakmoreduringthedemonstration.Themakeupapplicationtookapproximately28minutesmakingit
abitlittlelong.IfIcutasteportwooutsuchas,thelipstickandeyebrowslining,Istillcouldhave
gottenthepointacross.Ialsocouldseehowstillthestudentswereinbetweenthequestions;itdidnot
looklikeboredom,butwiththetwointerruptionsthestudentsjustwantedtogettheirhandsinit.
