Gun control

My argument is that they shouldnt away gun laws. They should make sure they know
and check the backgrounds of the people who they issue fire arms to. Citizens should have the
right to protect themselves from any unexpected event.
One of my first reason is the second amendment. His states that you have the right to bear
a fire arm. Citizens that have clean backgrounds have the right to own a gun to protect
themselves and their family. The government trying to take away gun laws is going against our
US constitution by not allowing the citizens of the USA own a fire arm. Straight from the US
Constitution on the 2nd Amendment A well-regulated militia bring necessary to the security of a
free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, Shall not be infringed. This allows
citizens own a fire arm of any source.
My second reason is Mass Shootings. There where over 294 mass shootings in 274 days
in the year 2015. This means everyday 2 or more innocent people were killed some days more
than 1 mass shootings occurred. One of the most drastic mass shooting events was the shooting
at Sandy Hooks Elementary School where 20 children under the age of 8 and six adults were
shot. If one of those six adults had a gun it would have decreased the number of people getting
killed that day of possibly not have any children killed. A Syrian hospital and school building
were attacked and at least 22 people were killed. There are also terrorist attacks that occurred in
Paris that caused many people getting killed, this all could have ended the amount off people

getting executed if someone had a gun and could defend themselves and everyone in the
buildings.
My last reason is Robberys that include home invasions and people getting robbed in
store parking lots. There are many incidents were people are shot and killed in stores as there
being robbed. In Tampa a suspect was found dead after a shooting in a liquor store. There was
also an incident were a girl in her early 20s was robbed by 3 young men and was eventually shot
and killed. Many occasions were someone is killed during a home invasion.
My counterargument is that having a gun could lead to more deaths in our society but it
could also decrease death rate. People own a gun are most likely to carry it were they go this
makes it obvious that they have a gun. That being said most people would think twice before
they want to rob someone they know own a gun. This will decrease the crime rate because
people arent going to rob someone who has a gun and chance themselves getting hurt.
Bearing a fire are could decrease the risk of death, stop mass shootings, and bring down
the crime rate.
