ShouldAndrewJacksonbeonthe$20Bill?
Andrew Jackson was the 7th president of the United StatesofAmerica.Hedidmanythingsto
help America and the government. He helped win the Battle of NewOrleansinthewarof1812which
made him famous. When he was president he increased federal power in the government. Andrew
Jackson expanded voting rights to the common man whichwasawhitemaleanditdidntmatterifhe
was rich or poor. Many Americans called him the Peoples President. I dont agree with people
calling him aPeoplesPresidentbecausehewasagainsttheNativeAmericans andAfricanAmericans.
If he was a the Peoples President, he wouldnt be against anyone of any color. Andrew Jackson
should be taken off the $20 bill because he took advantage of his veto power, went against the
Constitution, ignored the ruling of theSupremeCourtinGeorgiav.Worcester
,andcausedtheTrailof
Tears.
Andrew Jackson doesnt deserve to be on the $20 bill because he took advantageoftheveto
power. According to History Central.com, Jackson used his vetoing power extensively. He vetoed
more bills in histermofofficethanallthepreviouspresidentsputtogether.Thepresidentwasgiventhe
veto power to decide whats right for the citizens and he took advantage of that for his own benefits.
