There are so many countries I could have chosen to research; however, I have always
been interested in visiting Russia. I wanted to visit it because I wanted to lean how other people
live in the world. There also many different cultures there. I also wanted to try their Russian
pancakes.

GOVERNMENT
The government of Russia exercises executive power. Members of the
government are the Prime Minister, deputy ministers, and federal ministers. It
has legal basis in the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the federal
constitutional law. Russia has only recently been embracing democracy but it
very flawed in terms of its democratic credentials. Their current leader is
Vladimir Putin, is currently the president of Russia.

LOCATION
Russia is located in Eastern Europe and part of Northern Asia.
CURRENCY
Russias currency is called Russian Ruble. 1 Russian Ruble is equivalent
to 0.013 of a US Dollar.
TOURISM-what can visitors do if they visit this country?
The first place tourists should visit is St. Petersburg because there are
many cafes and hotels. They should also tour Moscow because its where the
Kremlin and Red Square are located.

FAMOUS LANDMARKS
The highest mountain peak in Europe is located in Russia. Its called
Mount Elbrus and is 18,510 ft. Russias oldest monument is the Cathedral of
St. Sophia.
FLAGRussias flag has three colors, red, white, and blue. White on top, blue in
the middle, and red on the bottom. The flag was first used as an ensign for
Russian merchant ships.
POPULATION
Russias population consists of 143,445,510 people.
LANGUAGE
Russias national language is Russian. It includes other languages like
English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, and Italian. These are also some of
the languages taught at school as foreign language classes.
CULTURE (style of dress/religion)
A big part of Russian culture is ballet and their main religion is
Orthodox Christianity and Orthodox Christians believe in a single god. Men
and women wear traditional shirts, dresses, and tunics. They wear valenki
boots and shoes.

FOOD
Russian food is very different in some aspects and also the fact that its
the largest country in the world by area. A popular dish is dressed herring
which is a salad composed of diced and salted herring with layers of boiled
vegetables.
FAMOUS PEOPLE BORN IN MY COUNTRY
Some famous people born in Russia include Valentina Tereshkova who
was an astronaut and Leo Tolstoy who wrote the book War and Peace.

Along with the actual report, you are to create a vivid and exciting slide show. The
slideshow should have a few facts that were discussed in your paper along with a lot of
beautiful pictures of your country.-

Along with your paper and slideshow, you are to prepare or purchase a dish (food item)
that is relevant to your chosen country. Be prepared to discuss how your chosen dish
relates to your country. We will have a festival celebrating all of the countries
represented during the presentations.-

The last portion of this project-create an informative poster with information and pictures
about your country OR dress in something that is relevant to your chosen country.
