Installing Java SDK

1. Log in as root.
2. Install Java SDK rpm.
rpm -ivh ibm-java2-x86_64-sdk-5.0-6.0.x86_64.rpm

3. Set JAVA_HOME in .bash_profile

PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin
JAVA_HOME=/opt/ibm/java2
PATH=/opt/ibm/java2/bin:$PATH
export JAVA_HOME
export PATH
unset USERNAME

4. Confirm JAVA home is properly setup.

java version

WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V6.1 Core

1. Extract the part number C88TFML.tar.gz in home directory under folder name
WASND_61.
2. Run the launchpad.sh script.

3. Click Launch the installation wizard for WebSphere Application Server Network
Deployment.

4. Click Next

5. Accept the License Agreement and Click Next

6. Click Next

7. Check the install sample Application and then click Next

8. Leave the installation directory structure as it is and then click Next

9. Select the type of Application Server environment.

Note:
-

For Application Server with Deployment Manager Profile select Cell from the
list.
For Single Application Server installation select Application Server

10. Enter the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Username and

Password.

11. Click Next

12. Click Finish

13. When installation finish Firs Step console is automatically open.

14. Click Installation Verification to verify the installation.

15. Click Administrative Console.

16. Enter Administrative Username and Password.
