Statement of Solution
Muslims are terrorists. What comes across your mind when you hear that or read it
somewhere? Some people seem to think that muslims are a group of deadly people.
Some people just think of them like any other human being. Our poster shares a
message about that. Judging somebody for their own cultural environment can impact
somebodys being. When the San Bernardino shooting happened there was a group of
muslims praying, grieving, and collecting money. But they werent allowed to grieve
because others thought it was their fault. For a while they felt guilty, but then again why
should they get blamed for something they didnt do?
People just declare their opinions without the other person's authority and without taking
them into consideration. It is time to make a change and make people realize that
discrimination is wrong. Our poster shows that information. Looks can be quite
deceiving. There are about 1.2 billion muslims in this world. About 4 out of 10 Americans
have an unfavorable view on Islam. About 46% of Americans think that Islam is more
likely to encourage violence (stopnowactnow.weebly.com). Which it leads to people
thinking of them as a threat. If there was a rule that muslims couldnt go here, it would
naturally be pure injustice for anybody that does not plead guilty to face the
consequences that they didnt even make. If we just spread the word around it would
make life easier for others. Our poster showcases what people think of them. There is a
muslim unity that prays like any other religion (its their own group). We all have our own
beliefs, so why would we use it upon another? But others try to think of a specific
religion and think its bad. My question is how does that make them any different than
anybodys other beliefs?
The national press found stories that centered on white people that were 3 times more
positive than negative but as to other stories about other races they were 3 times more
positive than negative (joseph harker, the guardian article). It is time for people to notice
what is going on or are we going to let the years fly by still being as it is now. Curing the
disease of racism takes time. It also takes humility, sincerity and requires seeking out
the right guidance. It means admitting we were or are wrong. Sincerely repenting and
making a concrete effort to change- (samana siddiqui, soundvision article). If we
spread the word with what the truth is what really is happening in the world and make
an effort to change on what the negativity against somebodys culture. I say we should
make each other feel comfortable for being who we are because we were born that way.
It would be easier to make somebody feel comfortable with a few words, but with one
word it changes everything. We can hang our posters in a public library, benches, and

outside stores. What we are aiming for our poster to be hanged is in public spaces like
near a airport. People pass there a lot and you would see people from different cultures
traveling as well. It's more common to see discrimination there. That would be a great
place because we want the message to get through.
We should put the poster in a place for everyone to see, specifically a public space.
People would see it and that will make them rethink. The other examples that weve
seen really did impact me with what is happening in other locations. When the people
see our poster, we want to leave them with an impact as well. We want to spread a
message to all that discrimination is bad and should not be used.
