Year 2: Clinical Rotations
Set up for you
Mostly in the Chicagoland area
Core Rotations (each 6 wks long): Internal Medicine, Family Medicine,
Pediatric Medicine, Womens Health, Surgery, Behavioral Medicine,
Geriatric Medicine, Emergency Medicine

Elective Rotations (two 4 week rotations or one 8 week rotation):


Medical specialties, Surgery specialties, Rural Medicine, Underserved
Medicine

2 & 3: Didactic components


Advanced Clinical Medicine I, II, & III
Independent Study in Capstone I-IV
Clinical Assessment Days occur after every clinical rotation to
test knowledge learned

Requirements & Deadlines:


-CASPA application: submit by October 1st
-2 letters of recommendation
-Rolling admission process
-Minimum cumulative & science GPA 2.75/4.00
*Competitive 3.00/4.00
-GRE look at most recent score if taken more than once
*Competitive at least 50th percentile or higher in each section
-Healthcare experience strongly preferred
No minimum requirement of hours
Does not need to be compensated
-Motivation and commitment to health care
-Demonstration of service and leadership
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Pass a criminal background check
-Meet the technical standards for admission as defined by the PA
program
Prerequisite Courses:
Biology with lab 4 hrs
Anatomy 4 hrs
General Chemistry with lab 8 hrs
Organic Chemistry with lab 4 hrs
Math (College Algebra or above) - 3hrs
Statistics - 3 hrs
English Composition - 6hrs
Social and Behavioral Sciences (Psych, Sociology, Anthropology) 6 hrs
-must be completed by Dec. 31st prior to matriculation
