UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES OPEN UNIVERSITY BAC RESOLUTION NO. 16-014 WHEREAS, the UP Open University (UPOU) Information and Communication Technology Development Office (|CTDO) through its Director, Prof. Al Francis D. Librero, requested to the Chancellor for the approval of the services of Moodlearning, Inc. for *MyPortal Hosting and System Upgrade” for six months with an approved Budget for the Contract (ABC) amounting to Two Hundred Fifty Pesos (Php250,000.00) only; WHEREAS, Section 53.7 of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act 9184, provides that the procuring entity may hire consultants to do work that is highly technical Furthermore, the term of the consultant shall, at the most, be on a six months basis, renewable at the option of the appointing Head of the Procuring Entity, but in no case shall exceed the term of the latter; WHEREAS, the previous contract for six months with Moodlearning, Inc, amounting to Two Hundred Fifty Pesos (PhP250,000.00) only will expire on 29 February 2016; WHEREAS, on 18 February 2016, the Chancellor approved the request for approval of Moodlearning, Inc.'s services for “MyPortal Hosting and System Upgrade" after the ICTDO Director has assessed that MoodLeaming, Inc. has proven itself to be a prompt, reliable and accommodating service provider, demonstrating professionalism in fulfling the terms of their contract, as well as flexibility and willingness to lend assistance outside the bounds of the contract (e.g. provided some input for development plans for MyPortal); NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Members of the Bids and Awards Committee, hereby RESOLVE as itis hereby RESOLVED to recommend awarding the contract to Moodleamning, Inc. for "MyPortal Hosting and System Upgrade" for six months from 1 March 2016 until 31 August 2016 for the contract amount of ‘Two Hundred Fifty Pesos (PhP250,000.00) only, RESOWMED, at UPOU Headquarters, Los Baftos, Laguna this 24" day of February, 2016 (Mune PATRICIA B.
