Read the ESSA graphic organizer

2.

Highlight/Write
a. Highlight a statement of the text you find particularly interesting
b. Write any comments or feelings about the statement you chose

3.

Group and Share

a. Identify Person 1 - tallest person
b. Person 1 shares their statement and where it is located in the text (thats it!)
c. Other group members share their reactions to Person 1s statement (must
proceed in order)

d.

Person 1 isnt allowed to make any comments on his/her statement until all
group members have shared their reactions

**PLEASE NOTE: You may not have time for everyone in your group to be Person 1.
That is OK. Everyone will have a chance to share during the first round.
