TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

EXEMPTIONS: (Must not have reached 19th birthday on June 13, 2016)
All former OGA Amateur Champions; Current or past Champions of either
division in the Ohio Junior. Top 10 finishers in 2015 Ohio Junior 16-18
division. Top 5 finishers in 2015 Ohio Junior 15 & under division. Any
player making Top 40 and ties in 2015 Ohio Amateur Championship.
Current NOGA, CDGA, MVGA, GCGA, and TDGA junior champions. Top 20
boys from Ohio that are listed on the Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings as of
May 3, 2016. Top 20 boys from Ohio that are listed on the AJGA Polo Golf
Rankings as of May 3, 2016. Special invitations by the Board or Executive
Director. All Exempt players must file an entry by May 5, 2016.
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION: Four sectional qualifiers
Championship field is 108 in the 16-18 and 36 in the 15 & under. 18
holes, Tuesday, June 14, 8:00 am start. 18 holes, Wednesday, June 15,
8:00 am start. Awards to Top 10 in 16-18 and Top 5 in 15 & under.
APPLICANTS: Open to all junior male golfers who have not reached
their 19th birthday as of June 13, 2016 and are residents of Ohio with
a handicap index under 14.4. Contestants are responsible for their own
accommodations. OGA office will supply hotel listings to those that qualify
for the Championship or are exempt from qualifying.
SECTIONAL QUALIFIERS: A contestant, not exempt, (exempt list is
on this app.) may compete at a designated course and date over 18
holes. Please choose a first and second qualifying location, in case of full
fields. Pairings for qualifiers will be sent approximately one week prior to
the qualifying date. Practice rounds are not included in the entry fee for
qualifiers. You may call the host club for practice round options.
ENTRY PROCEDURE: Contestants, including exempt players, shall apply
on official OGA entry blank, available at OGA Clubs, from OGA (ohiogolf.
org) or from Board Members in charge of sectional qualifiers. Entry fee
refund available only for medical reasons after deadline date, May 5, 2016,
4 p.m. Late or incomplete applications not accepted. No telephone or fax
entries. On-line entry is available at OHIOGOLF.ORG.
REGISTRATION: All qualifiers are required to register at Ashland GC,
Monday, June 13, 2016. A player may call the OGA to pre-register, if he is
unable to get to Ashland GC on Monday. If a player fails to register, his spot
will be given to an alternate. Club may allow alternate practice times, but
will charge appropriate fees.
CADDIES: Contestants must carry their own bags at all times while on club
property. Caddies are prohibited in any qualifying round or Championship
round or practice round on June 13.
PARENTS: Parents must remain a reasonable distance from play, at least
50 yards. Parents are not allowed on any teeing ground or putting green
during practice or tournament rounds. After the first warning, the player will
be disqualified.
FOOTWEAR: It is a condition of all qualifying sites and of the Junior that
shoes with traditionally designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e.
ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either
entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the
course) are prohibited during the stipulated round and practice rounds.
Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.
TRANSPORTATION: (Ohio Amateur and Junior) Players must not ride
on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized
by the Committee. The optional condition prescribed in Appendix 1 of
The Rules of Golf will be in effect. No spectator carts at any qualifier or
championship. No exceptions.

SPECIFICATIONS OF CLUBS AND THE BALL


List of Conforming Driver Heads: On its Web site
(http://www.usga.org) the USGA periodically issues a List
of Conforming Driver Heads that lists driving clubheads that
have been evaluated and found to conform to the Rules of
Golf. Any driver the player carries must have a clubhead,
identified by model and loft, that is named on the current
List of Conforming Driver Heads issued by the USGA.
Exception: A driver with a clubhead that was manufactured
prior to 1999 is exempt from this condition. *PENALTY
FOR CARRYING, BUT NOT MAKING STROKE WITH, CLUB
OR CLUBS IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Stroke play - Two
strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred;
maximum penalty per round - Four strokes.
*Any club or clubs carried in breach of this condition must
be declared out of play by the player to his marker or a
fellow-competitor in stroke play immediately upon discovery
that a breach has occurred. If the player fails to do so, he is
disqualified. PENALTY FOR MAKING STROKE WITH CLUB IN
BREACH OF CONDITION: Disqualification.
List of Conforming Golf Balls: On its Web site
(http://www.usga.org) the USGA periodically issues
a List of Conforming Golf Balls that lists balls that have
been tested and found to conform with the Rules of Golf.
The ball the player plays must be named on the current
List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the United States
Golf Association. PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION:
Disqualification.
PRACTICE ROUND: MONDAY, JUNE 13. NO PREARRANGED PRACTICE ROUNDS. You must report to the
first tee to arrange practice round. FIRST TEE CLOSES AT
3:00 p.m. Players are advised to come early. No exceptions. Players who violate this of any OGA Rule will be
immediately disqualified.
PAIRINGS: Pairings will be mailed to all contestants. All
entries shall be deemed to be by invitation and are subject
to OGA Board acceptance.
