TOURNAMENT INFORMATION: Six sectional qualifiers
Championship field is 144. 18 holes, Wednesday, July 13, 8:00 am start.
18 holes, Thursday, July 14, 8:00 am start. Field cut to 60 and ties.
18 holes, Friday, July 15, 8:00 am start. Field cut to 40 and ties.
18 holes, Saturday, July 16, 8:00 am start. Low 20 exempt for 2017
OGA Amateur. Awards to winner and runner-up. Top 10 will win trophies.
APPLICANTS: Must be (1) a member of an OGA Member Club or an
Associate Club with paid 2016 dues, (2) Determined by exemptions listed
elsewhere in this application; or (3) Non members of OGA clubs may enter
using entry form. All entrants must have a 5.6 handicap index or better.
Handicap must be through a USGA licensed golf club. A list can be found
at www.usga.org.
SECTIONAL QUALIFIERS: A contestant, not exempt, (exempt list is
on this app.) may compete at designated courses and dates over 18 holes.
The county in which a contestants club is located determines the section
where he should qualify. Non members of OGA Clubs should choose a first
and a second qualifying location, in case of full fields. Entrant does not
have to enter qualifying in his home section.
ENTRY PROCEDURE: Contestants, including exempt players, shall apply
on official OGA entry blank, available at OGA Clubs, from OGA (ohiogolf.
org) or from Board Members in charge of sectional qualifiers. Entry fee
refund available only for medical reasons after deadline date, May 5,
2016, 4 p.m. Late or incomplete applications not accepted. No telephone
or fax entries. On-line entry is available at OHIOGOLF.ORG.
REGISTRATION: All qualifiers are required to register at Findlay CC,
Tuesday, July 12. A player may call the OGA to pre-register, if he is unable
to get to Findlay CC on Tuesday. If a player fails to register, his spot will
be given to an alternate. Club may allow alternate practice times, but will
charge appropriate fees.
CADDIES: Contestants may carry their own bag. The following
constitutes a condition of the competition. Appendix 1, restriction on who
may serve as a caddie is in effect: . A player is prohibited from having
a parent, guardian or another player in the same competition serve as his
caddie during the stipulated round.
FOOTWEAR: It is a condition of all qualifying sites and of the Amateur
that shoes with traditionally designed spikes (regardless of composition,
i.e. ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either
entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the
course) are prohibited during the stipulated round and practice rounds.
Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.
TRANSPORTATION: (Ohio Amateur and Junior) Players must not ride
on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized
by the Committee. The optional condition prescribed in Appendix 1 of
The Rules of Golf will be in effect.
