Temperature
Since the Industrial Revolution (1860s)the global

average temperature has risen significantly.

Temperature

Scientists have high confidence that global temperatures

will continue to rise for decades to come, largely due to
greenhouse gasses produced by human activities.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC),

forecasts a temperature rise of 2.5 to 10 degrees
Fahrenheit over the next century

Earth is getting warmer by virtually, and the temperature

has been well above normal for more than 25 years.

Effects: Snow and ice

Glacier National Park
1990 and 2008

Effect on people

Some places and some

years will be warmer or
cooler than average.
Summers will get hotter,
not only because of higher
temperatures but also
because humilities will
increase. That means that
heat waves, like the one
that killed 35,000 people in
Europe in 2003, will
become more common.

What we can do

Reduce vehicle use

Walk more
Turn off heater or oven when we dont need it
Buy recycle products or any products with a U.S.

EPA Energy Star label.
