Dear Nurse Recruiter,
I am writing to express my interest in serving at your facility as a Registered Nurse. In May, I will be
graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Shenandoah University Eleanor Wade Custer
School of Nursing in Winchester, Virginia. I believe my education, clinical experience, and skills
make me a strong candidate for this position. I would like to submit my credentials for your review.
I have completed many clinical rotations during my academic career at Shenandoah University. I
have acquired many skills and competencies from these rotations, especially my critical care and
mental health rotations. During my critical care rotation, I have cared for many patients that have
critical needs as well as mental health needs. I have developed the ability to care for critical and acute
care patients with mental health needs. I have acquired strong therapeutic communication skills
during my rotations and believe that this skill has helped me provide care to patients of all needs.
I am a good fit for the position because I am motivated and dedicated to helping others. I believe
that providing education to patients is my strongest skill. I believe patient education helps empower
and motivate individuals to participate in their health care. I have found in my studies that patients
who have received adequate health education and resources were more motivated and able to care
for themselves at their best ability, which is the ultimate goal. I believe the care and education I give
to all individuals should set a foundation for them to strive towards better health.
It would be an honor and privilege to join your staff. I look forward to speaking with you further
about this wonderful opportunity. I can be reached at (540) 327-8703 or awells12@su.edu. Thank
you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Ashlyn Wells
