Tutor Mandarin Chinese speaking, listening comprehension lessons to the students of Defense
Language Institute (DLI) in Monterey, CA. Classes are adult small-group (4-6 students) instruction.
Incorporate various technologies into the classroom and for homework assignments including use of
authentic materials, DLPT 5-related materials on topics like military, culture, economic, education,
politics, environment, science and etc., GLOSS, and other DLI language training materials.
Totally versatile and familiar in the use of diplomatic terms and governmental work-related

Taught orthodox Mandarin Chinese lessons to the children (Grade 7-12 students) of employee of
TECRO (Taiwanese diplomats) posted in Washington, D.C. every Saturday morning using Chinese
lesson materials approved by Taiwanese educational authorities. Classes are small-group instruction.
Served as a classroom instructor teaching advanced students classical Chinese, including Chinese
fiction, prose, poetry, history of Chinese literature, etc.
Provided major substantive input for the planning, design, development and evaluation of the course
content, teaching mythology and evaluation.
Determined and evaluated course effectiveness and need for curriculum revisions. Selected to orient

Taught Mandarin Chinese as a second language to the students of Idaho State University who are
interested in Chinese culture and language exchange. Classes are for beginners in adult small-group
setting.
Accomplishments:
Evaluation from students showed ensures that the target language was the primary language
Taught Mandarin Chinese to adult foreign exchange college students in Taiwan in small-group setting
for 52 week long Chinese language classes as a full time position for one and a half years.
