Ipads are set up for children to use (with various resources)
Green Screen App, Imovie, Do Ink, pic collage
Set up pencil and paper for students to write notes
Students must bring their pencil case
Make and Print QR codes

you to watch

Lesson Steps (Lesson content, structure, strategies & Key Questions):


Today we will be creating are own a green screen movie, a pic collage or an
iMovie
We have set up some codes outside for you to scan and collect information
These codes are called QR codes; they hold information about the earth,
moon or sun
Can one partner from each pair, please get an ipads and sit back down with
your partner
With your ipads I would like you to open the application called Quick scan
**Wait for kids to open application
**Walk around and ensure all students are opening the correct application
When you are using the Quick scan application, hold the ipads close to the
code and it will read it. A box will appear on the screen with information on it.
Please make sure you screen shot the screen to use for the next part of the
task
To screen shot press the home button and the top button together at the
same time. The screen looks like it has a flash on it. To double check that you
have screen shotted correctly go into photos and click on camera roll and you
will see it at the bottom
If you need any help please ask one of the student teachers and they will be
able to help you
**Let students start scanning codes
Once you have finished scanning and screen shotting the information please
come and sit down in front of the teachers


**For earlier finishers, teachers can ask questions about what they have found
out
With your information you have a choice of either making a pic collage, an
iMovie or a green screen movie
So have a think about which one you would like to do with your partner

Welcome boys and girls
Has anyone ever used a green screen before?

A green screen can be used to create interesting images and you can even
walk and add your pictures with it, we will be creating our own movie about
the earth, moon and sun
You need to make sure that you show that the Earth, moon and sun are
different sizes and how they move around each other
You can use the microphone to voice over the video

Good Afternoon Boys and Girls
Has anyone ever made or seen and Imovie before
Imovie can be used to create a movie using a range of photos, sound effects
and music, people can also record their voices over photos which is what we
will be doing today
Today we are going to be making a Imovie using the information that you find
whilst scanning the QR codes and making a voice over ontop of pictures that
are already preloaded onto your ipads

I know you have all used iPad before, but have any of you used pic collage or
doodle buddy before?
Today we are going to use pic collage and doodle buddy to create pictures
and diagrams of what we have learnt today
Open the doodle buddy app and pic collage app and have a look around
You can draw and create whatever you like (diagram, picture etc) as long as
it shows me something you have learnt today.
Students will create background and add pictures on pic collage.
*if time, students will save pictures to the ipads and save it to iMovie creating
a voiceover for information over picture*

Get students to sit in a group and watch the videos that the other groups have
produced

Please pack away your ipads and sit on the mat ready to move onto the next
group activity

Anecdotal notes, asking questions, the final product will show us if they have
understood the lesson objectives.
