MICHEL FOUCAULTS EPISTEMOLOGY OF ILLNESS:
MADNESS AS A TRUE NATURE OF A PERSON

This article is devoted to the epistemology of illness in the works of Michel Foucault.
The article contains the analysis of such works as Mental Illness and Personality and History
of Madness in Classical Epoch and describes the stages of Foucaults epistemological views
development. The author underlines the historically-anthropological orientation of the interpretation of madness in Foucaults epistemology: madness is understood as a true nature of
reason, a true nature of a person.
