The monuments men is a film that shows importance to art. The people in the movie saved art masterpieces like paintings and sculptures. And those artworks are part and shows there culture and history. These are very important to them so they protected it from war and carefully stored in a safe place like a museum. This film taught us that we should preserve artworks that have been part of our culture and history. Unlike in The Monuments Men, here in the Philippines, there are significant things that shows our several culture from different old tribes that were not preserve, not taken care of and some were already gone and destroyed. These are paintings, sculptures and architectures made and built hundred years ago. Although we have our museums, like the National Museum, where artworks and treasures are carefully preserved, still, there are masterpieces that was destroyed from war and sadly destroyed by normal people. Some examples are monuments and statues of people who had been part of our history that was not preserved and not maintained clean. There are also historical old houses that had been demolished and destroyed. There are artworks that had been made by different old tribes in the Philippines that was not preserved. And also, paintings made by some artists were not preserved and some are missing. The film shows us the art appreciation. In our country, our culture and history are rich, and we can see these from different art masterpieces that we should appreciate more and take care of. In this way, we can still appreciate the beauty of our culture and history and next generations can still see these beautiful artworks.
