Graduation rates for students attending

Chair Rob McFarlane
Langley secondary schools are at their highest
ever and have increased steadily over the last several years, putting our
graduation rate of 87 per cent ahead of the provincial average of 84 per
cent for the sixth consecutive year. Also on the rise are the number of
students that indicate they intend to pursue post-secondary education
over 90 per cent of graduating students in Langley schools said so in
exit surveys.
Our excellent Choice Programs, which are designed to meet the needs
and interests of students, include a wide array of opportunities. District
programs including Fundamental Education, International Baccalaureate,
Montessori, French Immersion, trades and apprenticeships are available to the students of Langley. In-school specialty academies inspire
students in areas like fine arts and musical theatre, baseball and hockey along with our newest offerings: the Equestrian Academy and the
Softball Academy. There are many programs and offerings to explore
throughout the school year and, more recently, into the summer as
part of our extremely successful Summer Session that attracts over
4,000 Grade 1-12 students to enriching course offerings in the summer
months.
Whether your child is ready for Kindergarten or entering a higher grade level in a Langley school for the first time, visit your nearest neighbourhood school for more information on registration.
Alternatively, you may visit www.sd35.bc.ca for school location tools
and registration information. The School Board Office is centrally located
at 4875 222nd Street in Langley, and may be reached by phone at 604534-7891. On behalf of the Board of Education, welcome to the neighbourhood and welcome to the Langley School District.
Sincerely,
Robert McFarlane, Chair
Langley Board of Education (School
District #35)

For families with new babies
(up to six months), Welcome
Wagon has a visit tailored to
the family, which receives
information about services and
amenities in the community,
and gifts for the new mom.
