Plant Cell Fun Part 1!

Go anywhere in the Americas and what is something you will
always see? Plants! They are an important part of our world.
Plants are living and anything living is made up of cells!
Today we will be learning about plant cells and the organelles
(little organs) that they are composed of.
The stiff structure that surrounds plant cells is called the
cell wall. The cell wall is important because it keeps the cell
from falling apart and provides protection for the cell.
Do you know where plants get their green color? From an
organelle called the chloroplast. This part of the cell is
important for photosynthesis the process that plants use
to make food using sunlight.

organelle called the mitochondria. Its
a big word, but fun to say. Give it a try!
The mitochondria is important because
it is the power house of the cell and
burns food to give the cell all of its
energy.
