1. Give a very brief overview of the class organization.

What
happened at the beginning, middle, and end of class? What
activities were there?
Teacher did the project 2 conferences during the whole class
time. The purpose is to analyze and interpret a commercial
advertisement by closely examining its images, text, and context
as to explain the ads underlying message and its impact on a
specific consumer audience. She gave students outcomes and
the guidelines as an example for them to understand this
assignment. The whole assignment was divided into two parts:
part 1 and part 2. As for the assignment sheet, the class teacher
specifically explained what she wanted to the students to do and
what she was looking forward to seeing in the assignment. After
that she explained the assignment and started helping the
students change their WP2 assignment one by one.
2. Describe the teacher's teaching style. In what ways is it similar
to/different from your own classroom teacher?
During this class she simplified and the assignment much better
than my head teacher. She used very simple sentences to
explain everything. And, I think it was really helpful. My own
head teachers assignment seemed to be a little bit complicated
for the students to understand.
3. Be honest: What did you like better in this observed classroom?
Why?
I like her teaching style. She was really nice and her assignment
seemed simpler to be understood. She was really patient to answer
each students questions. She sat next to each student and helped
them take an overview on their assignment.
4. Think about transfer of skills. What will you take from this
observation experience and bring into your own classroom?
What did you learn? What will you remember?
I really like this teacher because she is really patient and
nice. I observed she helped one student with his project. She
read through the paper in the following ways:
a. When she saw a good point in the students paper, she
then always said good words to encourage the student.
b. She helped students change their specific details.
c. When she saw a confusing place, what she did was to ask
questions to the student, and then discussed with him. During
their discussion, the teacher also used technology (online
website)
d. She taught the student step by step to make sure they
fully understand how to use MLA style. In addition, she always
asked the students wh questions so as to guide them to focus
on their main points.
