Why was the Nazi Party often associated with young men of the lower middle class? Is there a
similar pattern among racist groups today?
The Nazi party, loved by Germans hated by most everyone else. The Nazi Party or Nationalist
Socialist Party was the leading party of Germany from 1933 to 1945. They were led by Adolf
Hitler, who was a totalitarian dictator. Many Germans loved Hitler and had respect for him. The
Nazis were extremely racist and viewed other races as inferior and beneath them such as the
Jews and the Slavs. The massacred millions of people for no reason, just because of their race.
The Nazi Party was often identified with lower class young men and many racist groups are
similar today.
To start, the Nazis were often associated with young men of the lower middle class. For
example, some of Hitler's policies involved large public works things, He began work on
office buildings, sports stadiums and public housing. (History Doctor 1). Many of the lower
class men werent great scholars or artists so they needed jobs. Hitler, who was the leader of the
Nazi Party, created lots of jobs for these men. He gave all these working class men jobs and they
started to become part of the Nazi party. Also, when talking about Hitlers life it says Hitler
was born in Braunau am inn, a small town in Austria. (History Doctor 1). Hitler being the

leader of the Nazis was just like these men who grew up in poorer families and didnt have
much. The Nazis also were the workers party and that was exactly what these young men were.
Lastly, when talking about results of Nazi policies it says, The standard of living for most
workers increased moderately and business profits rose sharply. (History Doctor 1). Most
of the workers in Germany were young lower middle class men. When Hitler started appealing to
the lower class workers they started to become the image of the Nazi Party. The Nazi Party was
often associated with lower middle class young men for these reasons, and there are even more.
Again, the Nazi party was often associated with the lower middle class of younger men. To
begin with, when talking about votes in Germany it says, Studies of the electoral results of the
1930s have revealed the Nazis gaining noticeable support from people who hadnt voted in
elections before, and also among young people eligible to vote for the rst time. (European
History 1). Nazi propaganda to all the young people about creating jobs and providing
opportunities worked. Young workers, specifically men, wanted a better strong Germany which
lead to support by the young people and it led to them becoming associated with the Nazis. Also,
when talking about how people saw hitler it says, He wasnt widely seen as a power hungry
racist, but someone putting Germany and Germans rst. (European History 1). What the
people wanted was the Germans to be back on top and strong again. Hitler planned on doing this
by making the economy strong again and rebuilding the military. Exactly what he needed to do
this laid in the lower middle class young men. Lastly, when talking about who supported the
Nazis it said, A lower middle class of craftspeople and small shop owners drawn to the
Nazis to ll a gap in politics, as well as the central middle class. (European History 1). The
communists nor the republic appealed very much to the lower middle class, so they went with
the group that supported them the most which was the Nazis. This group then started to become

the face of the New German Empire. The Nazis were associated with the lower middle class of
young men, and many racist groups today are the same.
Finally, many racist groups are similar to the Nazi in the fact that they also have young men of
the lower middle class. To start, when talking about ISIS recruiting it says, The recruits are
often young -- sometimes disillusioned teenagers trying to find purpose and make their
mark. (CNN 1). This was the same with a lot of the young German workers. They did not
know what to do in life and the Nazis were creating jobs so they hopped on board. Even though
the Nazis were racist the young men werent going to complain because they had jobs because of
the government. Secondly, it also says, The general picture provided by foreign fighters of
their lives in Syria suggests camaraderie, good morale and purposeful activity, all mixed in
with a sense of understated heroism, designed to attract their friends as well as to boost
their own self-esteem. (CNN 1). This is not exactly what the Nazis did but it is similar in the
fact that they used propaganda heavily to show if you werent a Nazi then you hated Germany.
They used propaganda to make young worker man join the ranks of the Nazis which in turn
showed and image to the public that the Nazis were made up of hard working, young men.
Lastly, when talking about Isis propaganda it says, Isis has a penchant for producing slick
videos that resemble trailers for Hollywood action movies. (CNN 1). Like the Germans, Isis,
an Islamic radical group, uses propaganda to drive you men to joining their ranks. These young
men think wow look how cool that is and want to join. When you have all young men from
poorer backgrounds in your ranks that will be whom you come associated with and the Nazis,
Isis, and other radical groups know just this. Other Racist groups today are very similar to the
Nazis today in the case that they associate with young men of the lower middle class.

Nazis and radical groups today identified with young men of the lower middle class. The
Nazis and many other racist groups today are still identified with young men. Groups like Isis,
Al-Qaeda, and the KKK are still portrayed by young men who have been swayed into radicalism.
These men have nothing and end up getting swooped up by the propaganda that is sent out.
