TITLE:Howtogrowcilantrothefastestwithmodifications

PURPOSE:

Whenresearchinginformation,wefoundthatdifferentpeoplehadsuccesswhen
usingamultipleofdifferentvariableswhengrowingavarietyofplants.Fromusing
backgroundinformationandaskingpeopleweknowwhohaveplanted,Wefoundthat
cilantrogrowsrelativelyquickly.Wewonderedwhatvariableswouldmakecilantrogrow
thefastest.Wechoosetotestcilantrowhenusingclubsoda,fertilizer,andcoffeebeans
anddeadleaves(deadleaveshelpbalancetheacidincoffeebeans)toseewhichgrew
thefastest.

HYPOTHESIS:
1. Control:Cilantro,FullWhiteLight,ConcentrationOfCO2,25DegreesCelsius,
2. Experiment#1:Ifweaddcoffeebeansanddead,thenitwillgrowfasterbecause
thecaffeineacceleratesgrowthwhiletheleavesreducetheairsickness
3. Experiment#2:Ifweaddfertilizer,thentheplantwillgrowfasterbecausethe
fertilizergivesitnutrientstogrow
4. Experiment#3Ifweaddclubsoda,thentheplantwillgrowfasterbecauseit
addsimportantmicronutrients.

RESULTS/DATA:
Thedatabelowshowsthatcilantroinallfourplotsslowlyfermented.Ittook9recorded
daysfortheplanttosprout.Oncethecilantrointheplotssprouted,theygrewfastafter
thefirstrecordeddayoffermentation.Afterthatday,theplantsgrewslowly.Theclub
sodaplotdidstartgrowingmorethelastfewdocumenteddaysoftheexperiment.

CONCLUSION:

Inourexperiment,wetestedhowtallcilantrowouldgrowwhenexposedtofullwhite
light,highCO
2
,25degreesCelsius,acertainamountofliquideachdayandafew
differentvariables.Ourcontrolplantwasplantedinplot1andwaswateredwithwater.
Plot2hadthesamevariablesasthecontrol,butcoffeeanddeadleaveswereadded
thefirstdayoftheexperiemtemtandonMarch8th.Plot3hadthesamevariablesas
thecontrol,buthadfertilizeraddedatthebeggingandonMarch8th.Plot4,hadthe
samevariablesasthecontrolbutwasnourishedwithclubsodaratherthanwater.We
wentbackandforthbetweenusing3mmand10mmtogettheplantsnourished.We
observedthatallplantsbuttheoneinplotthreegrew.Italsotookquitealongtimefor
theplantstogrow.Ninedayswereobserved(notincludingweekends),beforethefour
plotsshowedanygrowth.Welearnedhowitistogrowandcareforaplantandhow
plantstrulydonotgrowovernight.Wedonotthinkthiswasafairtestbecausesadlyon
the12thdocumentedday,therewasanerrorwithmeasuringtheplantinplot1,and10
mmgotchoppedoff.Thisplantcouldofpossiblygrowntallerthantheonewithcoffee
beansifitsgrowthwerenotstunted.Somequestionswehaveareiftheplantscouldof
growntallerandwhyisitthatthatplotthreeshowednogrowth.Thisappliestogrowing
anythinginreallife.Therearealwaystrialanderroringrowingthings.
