• All depats have their own login into the system.The Accounts and
Admin dept share the same printer

• All Printers have a built in ethernet interface and supports


SMTP,TCP/IP, AppleTalk and are LAN printers

• Remote users have their own user name & password and have to
pass authentication to gain entry onto the system

• The DC acts as a Fileserver and DHCP server and provides IP


address for 50 users and 2 static IP addresses for 2 servers

• Automated Troubleshooting system in place which allows depts to


log their problems. If the solution for the problem cannot be found
through the FAQ’s in the org’ Intranet it gets referred to 2nd line
support.

• The IT dept can remotely login to any dept to solve the problem that
gets logged before a Service Level Agreement (SLA) is enforced. If
they have to login to any other dept’ for any other reason prior
permission has to obtained from the relevant dept heads

• If any user has failed authentication he has to call the IT department


to reset their passwords before gaing access onto the system. Any
employee who has left the organisation, their logins get
automatically restricted by the IT department & have to call them
before gaining access. However, remote login users have a
dedicated number which they call to get any of their problems
resolved.

• Anybody who come in to service the machines or to check if the systems


are working properly have a separate login and network id and cannot
gain access onto the companies network

• Softwares installed on all the systems are the same. Restrictive


access apply to the access to the software applications depending
on the profile of the user who is logging on to the system. Eg:
Payroll applications cannot be accessed by a person in the admin
dept & IT dept remote login access to resolve problems on
workstations cannot be done by people in other dept’s
