2016
To Whom It May Concern:
I am interested in applying for an early childhood, elementary, or early childhood
special education teaching position.
As of May 14, 2016, I will be a recent graduate of Samford Universitys Orlean
Bullard Beeson School of Education-Curriculum & Instruction from which I will earn
certifications in Early Childhood Development, Special Education, Elementary
Education, and Collaborative Education, and I feel that I could be an asset to your
elementary school.
During my time at Samford University, I observed many different grade levels and
had the wonderful opportunity of teaching in schools that are considered urban,
suburban, multicultural, and rural. These experiences familiarize me with various
socioeconomic and cultural issues that affect childrens academic success. Most
schools that I interned with receive Title I funds, so I am well acquainted with RTI
and various types of reading and math intervention strategies. Along with teaching
and observing in these schools, I have engaged in action research, professional
learning communities, administered many assessment and survey tools, have had
IEP writing and STI-SETS training, learned how to make various accommodations
and modifications for both low and high incidence disabilities, additionally, I have
had the opportunity to write and to develop an IEP with a small group of peers to
present to faculty members and Jefferson County Board of Education members. I
have also provided technology professional development to teachers, and was even
a University Liaison to promote an excellence in education between Samford
University and Trace Crossings Elementary School.
All of my experiences in and out of the classroom have equipped me with many
characteristics that are necessary to be a highly effective teacher. Such
characteristics are integrity, responsibility, flexibility, and working cooperatively
with others. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my
skills, experiences, and potential growth professionally can meet the needs of your
students. The most personable experience for me as an educator is getting to know
every one of my students and guiding them through their journey to reach a love for
learning and facilitating intellectual curiosity.
I have attached my resume. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,

Alura Soles
