INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES/ STUDENT OUTCOMES


Students will be able to discuss where the Andes Mountains are located and what makes it
special.
Students will be able to explain who the Andes Manta are and what they do.
Students will be able to explain and demonstrate concert etiquette.
Students will be able to create a pan pipe instrument made of straws.

DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION/ ADAPTATIONS/ INTERVENTIONS


Learning disabilities: Modified instruction- I will ask them simpler questions.
Attention differences: I will offer guided instruction to keep the students on task, focused, and
interested in the lesson.
Physical differences: I will allow added time for the exercises.

Sensory differences: I will have a variety of ways to deliver the content. Prezi, pictures, and
video for visual learner. Lecture, discussion, and video for auditory learners, and hands on
activities (poster board activity) for kinesthetic learners.

PROCEDURES
Introduction
First, I will present the students with a picture of the Andes Mountains in South America.
I will give some facts about the Andes Mountains and explain it.
Body & Transitions
I will start with the first prezi that is about the Andes Manta group.
I will show the students this clip of the Andes Manta playing.

After the clip I will do a think aloud. Ask for the students thoughts about the clip.
Next, the students will make their own instruments out of straws.
Each student will get a set straws and tape.
Closure
Using a different prezi to go over Concert Etiquette.

If Student Finishes Early
The student will write about their favorite instrument or music.
If Lesson Finishes Early

The students will watch a concert of the Andes Manta and then I will let the students discuss
their favorite part of the show, favorite instrument, how they feel about the music, what they like
about the group etc
If Technology Fails
I will print out powerpoint for each student and if I cant show the clip I will try to explain the
Andes Manta the best I can. I can play a piece of their music on my phone/tablet if I have a
strong enough signal.
