PA FAN

1. The Supplier shall provide the complete instrumentation and control system to
control and monitor PA Fan and its auxiliary system. Control and instrumentation
shall be designed and provided in accordance with Appendix-J1 (General
Technical Requirements for I&C).
2. The instruments installation shall include all necessary materials for supporting, if
required, valves for isolating, flushing and testing. The Supplier shall supply all
the necessary test ports, and control and instrumentation hardware required for
the operation and testing of the PA Fan.
3. The control and monitoring functions will be implemented at the operator
consoles in Central Control Room (DCS). Therefore, the Supplier shall submit
control logic & loop diagram including automatic stall warning function, PA Fan
protection and subgroup control for lube oil system, etc.
4. All level switches, gauge glasses, flow switches, pressure & flow transmitters,
RTDs, Thermocouples for complete system with all accessories, required for
equipment performance and safety shall be supplied by the supplier.
5. Remote monitoring & alarm facility for the following parameters shall be provided
in addition to suppliers recommended instruments:

Fan speed

Lube oil and working oil tank level

Lube oil pump discharge pressure.

DP across lube oil strainer-Alarm

DP across working oil strainer-Alarm

Pressure at working oil strainer outlet

Lube oil cooler outlet temperature.

Cooling water flow Low alarm.

Cooling water pressure & temperature at inlet and outlet of working oil cooler.

Oil temperature at inlet and outlet of working oil cooler.

6. All services and equipment necessary for proper and safe operation of the PA
Fan and protection of other station equipment resulting from PA Fan

operations/malfunctions shall be provided by the Supplier.
