Joint Statement

WeunderstandthatICThassuchabigimpactonchildren'slearninganddevelopment
inaclassroom.WeareallawarethatICTresourcesallowstudentstobecome
creative,engagedandhandsonwiththeirownlearning.ForICTtoworkeffectively
withinaclassroom,theteacherneedstobewillingtoeducatedinhowtousethepiece
oftechnologytoitsfullest,teachchildrenhowtousethetechnologybutalsobeable
toimplementtechnologyintolearningprogramsandensureitisfunandinteresting
forstudents.Overallwebelievethattheuseoftechnologywithintheclassroom
enhancesstudentsengagementandlearningallowingforbetteroutcomes.
ThisICTIntegrationprojectismadeupofthreecomponents:planning,presenting,
andpublishing.
Theplanningprocessinvolvescreatingafourlessonsequencethatincludesavariety
ofICTresourcestoenhancestudentlearning.Beforetheselessonscanbepresented,
theuseofaspiderscribeisneededtocreateabrainstormofwhatisrequiredofus
fromthistask.Asetofstatementswillneedtobeproducedasagroupoutliningthe
purposebehindtheproject.Thepresentingelementinvolvestakingoneofthelessons
plannedandconductinga45minutelessonwiththeYear2studentsatNorth
FremantlePrimarySchool.Inthislessontheywillpartakeinactivitiesthatare
centeredaroundfurtheringtheirknowledgeonplacevalue.Thepublishingprocess
involvesthecreationofaWeeblywebsiteincludingalloftheaboveinformation.It
willalsoincludingarangeofresources,activitiesandlessonsforstudentsand
teachersoverfourlessons.InourWeeblywehaveincludedfourlessonplansthat
clearlyexplaintherequirementsforalllessonsandstronglybuilduponextending
knowledgelearntfrompreviouslessons.Asaresultofthisunitofworkwehopeto
produceaninteractiveandeffectivewebsitethatcanbeusedinayear2classroomto
engagestudentsthroughtheMathematiclearningprocess.
