Joint Statement

We understand that ICT has such a big impact on children's learning and
development in a classroom. We are all aware that ICT resources allow
students to become creative, engaged and hands on with their own learning.
For ICT to work effectively within a classroom, the teacher needs to be willing
to educated in how to use the piece of technology to its fullest, teach children
how to use the technology but also be able to implement technology into
learning programs and ensure it is fun and interesting for students. Overall we
believe that the use of technology within the classroom enhances students
engagement and learning allowing for better outcomes.
This ICT Integration project is made up of three components: planning,
presenting, and publishing.
The planning process involves creating a four-lesson sequence that includes
a variety of ICT resources to enhance student learning. Before these lessons
can be presented, the use of a spider scribe is needed to create a brainstorm
of what is required of us from this task. A set of statements will need to be
produced as a group outlining the purpose behind the project. The presenting
element involves taking one of the lessons planned and conducting a 45minute lesson with the Year 2 students at North Fremantle Primary School. In
this lesson they will partake in activities that are centered around furthering
their knowledge on place value. The publishing process involves the creation
of a Weebly website including all of the above information. It will also including
a range of resources, activities and lessons for students and teachers over
four lessons. In our Weebly we have included four lesson plans that clearly
explain the requirements for all lessons and strongly build upon extending
knowledge learnt from previous lessons. As a result of this unit of work we
hope to produce an interactive and effective website that can be used in a
year 2 classroom to engage students through the Mathematic learning
process.
