Objectives:
Use the FOCUS design process with strong focal point and flow
Unify a layout with a consistent theme and dominant spiritual message
Learn to blend two or more images together gradually, using masks
Demonstrate more advanced Photoshop skills for layout with multiple elements
Use a mask to apply a filter to one part of the image
Process:
I used photoshop for the project. I had to find two pictures that i thought would go together and could
inspire someone. I mainly used the airbrush tool to mask the images together. I also used some of the
FOCUS steps to create this. I tried to make the colors pop, but also make it so the focus, Christ, popped as
well. I Also wanted certain words to stick and stand out. Overall I am pleased with how this turned out.

Objectives:
Learn basic photography skills. Capture good light , sharp focus and composition.
Choose color scheme to match the photo you took.
Create full bleed photodesign with swatches.
Use a few words to portray message along with the photo.
Process:
First, I had to take some photos. From the photos, I decided the way I wanted to go with this project.
I used photoshop for this project. I used different edits to help make the picture more clear and crisp, and
also used a color scheme of big split complimentary to help draw people in. The swatches were tricky, but
once I got those down, I think they turned out great. I was new to photoshop, so it was nice to be able to use
trial an error to come up with this.

Comprehend image sizing.
Find, scan and import a high-quality image.
Create a full-bleed design.
Choose a color scheme and typeface(s) that work for your message and audience.
Learn to use only Word design features without using any Adobe programs, including Photoshop.
Process:
I created this flier in Microsoft Word. I first found and then scanned in an image from a Sports Illustrated
Magazine. I then made my lay-out and began to insert the title, then the words in the body. I then found
better fonts to make it look more professional. I found my color scheme early so that I could make it look
professional. I added the box around the time and date to add more design and to make it look more fluid.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator
Objectives:
Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or personal image that will appeal to the
audience.
Use only the Illustrator tools to create and draw your logos.
Refine one logo with variations for color.
Process:
For this project we used Adobe Illustrator. I actually enjoyed this project. It was fun to create and use
different things. I started by making my first 3 logos. I had never used before. I used trial and error to come
up with the best designs. Some received very good feedback, and others, not so much. A lot of people liked
this one, but they said their needed to be some tweaks to it. I made the tweaks needed and this is what I
have created. I think this turned out well and would be a good logo.

Process:

I created this using a myriad of different things. I started off grabbing my design from Adobe
Illustrator. I then created most of it from CSS. I also used PhotoShop to grab some of the colors
that are needed. I used the color tool in PhotoShop. I also used the Internet to help me learn
to do different things in CCS. This project was challenging but it pushed me in a good way.

flier
Description:
This is a flier for the Graduate Leadership Conference coming up in October. It is for those graduating
seniors who have a desire to gain a competitive edge in the workplace.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe InDesign
Objectives:
Apply the design principles and use appropriate typography.
Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout.
Retrieve image and logo from links on this page.
Create a project folder with image, logo and InDesign document to keep links in InDesign intact.
Process:
For the flier I used InDesign and also one of the pictures and logos provided for us. Some of the FOCUS
elements I used was formulate and simplify. I first formulated a plan by putting the boxes up first with no
information, just so I had an idea as to where I wanted to put my designs. I then tried to keep it very simple.
This is a straight-forward event, so I kept it simple and took out unnecessary parts that made it seem overthe-top or that just did not fit well with it.
