Right now for Dragon Systems Consulting, tracking client configuration information and hardware components is not
working well. As there company has grown so has the need to store and track on goings in the company even more.
Tracking the different warranty periods of Hardware and Software elements is a problem. Technicians are not working
in sync and are not informed of what other technicians have already carried out which as a result leads to a waste of
time and money. There is a need for a web applications service for both clients and technicians, who can use the
application to log service needs and which can be used to record comments of what work they have completed from
clients request. This system should allow technicians to access and update client hardware and software
configurations accurately both at Dragon Systems consulting headquarters and on the clients site. This information
should also be accessible at all times to the technicians without having to present security issues. The application has
an opportunity to provide better service to users along with reducing costs and better information to both the I.T team
and management.
BRIEF STATEMENT OF EXPECTED SOLUTION

The goal of the system will allow technicians to track and update the components and configuration information for
each piece of equipment for each client to a high standard. The end goal is to have a system that is responsive to clients
and helpful to technicians. The system will provide an easy framework for technicians to track the installation of new
hardware components by optimizing a barcode scanner and will allow clients to directly enter their service requests. A
primary goal for the system is to allow technicians to document the work done on those requests, and for all investors
to be able to see the history and status of each request. Configuration will also have to be flexible to allow multiple
users access without disturbing the efficiency of the system.
