I am the volunteer coordinator for Sustainable Sandhills, a local environmental non-profit aimed at education and
awareness of climate change and climate action. Currently coordinating a Climate Action Summit slotted for Feb
2016.
Currently leading a grassroots campaign for Bernie Sanders within the Sandhills area of North Carolina, and on
campus; UNC Pembroke for Bernie Sanders. I have led Letters to the editor tutorials, voter registration drives,
debate viewing parties, social media training, fundraisers, and was interviewed on WNCT-TV, BernieTV, and gave
a speech on grassroots organizing to the Cumberland Progressives committee in November, 2015.
Member of Democratic Women of Cumberland County
Was a member of a panel discussing colony collapse disorder in Fayetteville NC, and have given several local
talks on sustainable agriculture, and protecting the pollinators.
Led a 50 person march on May 24th 2014 to bring awareness of sustainable agriculture, food deserts, and a need
for appropriate labeling. From this, I formed a community group called, Bee GMO Free Fayetteville, which has
over 80 members.
Campaigned for I-522 in WA in 2013, attended hearings in Olympia and participated in education, petitioning, and
tabling events.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

I spent 6 years in Okinawa, Japan, from 2003-2009. During this time, I had the opportunity to interact and work
with many different cultures. I was the president of my Dept. of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) high
schools Japanese Club, and coordinated several community service projects. After high school, I taught advanced
English at Gloria Business School. I also attended several church service trips to neighboring islands in the
Ryukyu Island Chain, where we served the elderly population; many of whom were centenarians who lived
through WWII. These experiences taught me the value of clear communication, and served to broaden my
worldview.
