My daily responsibilities included, but were not limited to: adhering to procedures detailed
in the company Standard Operating Manual; enforcement of all safety policies, rules, and
procedures as applicable to colleagues and resort guests; working effectively and efficiently
to ensure the safety of guests in a fast-paced environment while also ensuring their
enjoyment of the attractions; responding to high-pressure situations; and, utilizing effective
verbal and non-verbal communication to instruct guests who often spoke various
languages. Ultimately, it was my responsibility to be knowledgeable of the resort and
company ethos, focus on the children, and ensure a pleasurable experience for each
guest.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
Youth Soccer Coach at Knox County YMCA
January February 2016

As a coach, I planned and directed indoor soccer practices for seven children in the 2nd and
3rd grades with the goal of creating a positive environment for the players to further develop
their technical skills, soccer IQ, and enjoy exercising. I coached games during which the
children were able to apply what they had learned during practices. I was responsible for
maintaining open communication with other coaches and with the parents of the players to
ensure that the objectives of the program were understood and to ensure the experience
was enjoyable and instructive for the children.

I assisted with activities in a class room of sophomore high school students. I provided
assistance with homework and led tutoring sessions for students struggling in
mathematics.

I applied my experiences with and lessons learned through TOPSoccer and coached
children with intellectual and physical disabilities. Volunteering with Champions League
taught me how to communicate with individuals unlike myself, and sparked my passion
working with children.

TOPSocccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) at La Jolla Youth Soccer

TOPSoccer is a community-based program for young athletes designed to bring the
opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a mental or physical
disability. I completed a course by TOPsoccer that educated me on different ways to
communicate and socialize with children with different disabilities. After successful
completion of the course, I played soccer with children and teenagers with intellectual and
physical disabilities.

Currently a freshman student enrolled full-time and working towards a Bachelor of Science
degree in Biology and a minor in health studies.

Relevant Coursework: I have completed two terms of inorganic chemistry, one term of
psychology, and one term of cell biology/physiology. I am currently enrolled in molecular
biology and genetics. These classes also had a laboratory as a component of the
curriculum. I also completed one terms of Spanish and am the process of completing my
second term.

Relevant Coursework: I completed the four-course Project Lead the Way: Principles of
Biomedical Science program which included the following classes: Principles of Biomedical

studied the concepts of human medicine, physiology, genetics, microbiology, and public
