To Whom It May Concer:
am writing this letter in support of Walker Catoe and can speak to his teaching and learning
skills. I was Mr. Catoe’s instructor for two courses as well as his advisor.
In the classroom Mr. Catoe is confident, engages students in thoughtful conversation, and
establishes the primacy of intellectual growth goals. He demonstrates creativity in his
lessons, is prepared for class, and maintains a solid understanding of classroom management.
Moreover, Mr. Catoe possesses the crucial capacity to take direction, criticism, and
suggestion and transform it into improved teaching practice. In short, he is highly
‘eoachable,” and as such will find his first year, though challenging as it is for all, much less
s0, He also has the ability to reflect and seif-assess, and then adapt and implement solutions.
‘Asa student Mr. Cate is attentive, diligent, and conscientious. His work for class was always
complete, well proofed, thoughtful, and demonstrated concern for exceeding the minimum.
requirements and expectations. His lesson plans were complete and sent to his student
teaching supervisor in a timely manner. His relationship with his mentor teacher for student
teaching was professional and he was proactive in asking questions, offering ideas, and
providing solutions. He has demonstrated his collegial value through his respectful
interactions, consistent contributions, and the ability to constructively incorporate criticism
with interested enthusiasm.
Mr. Catoe’s combination of teaching skills and adaptability are such that I wholeheartedly
support his application for employment in your school. ;
Sincerely,
a fag
