DIGITAL FUEL LEVEL WITH EXPECTED MILLAGE

INDICATOR
SYNOPSIS
The Engine fuel level indicator shows the liter of the Engine fuel far away from
the location of the Engine fuel tank and this is display in the dash pad. Sensor is fixed in
to the Engine fuel tank. The digital display is used to indicate the fuel levels.

INTRODUCTION
This is an era of automation where it is broadly defined as replacement of manual
effort by mechanical power in all degrees of automation. The operation remains an
essential part of the system although with changing demands on physical input as the
degree of mechanization is increased.
Degrees of automation are of two types, viz.
Full automation.
Semi automation.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
The main purpose of this project is to indicate the digital fuel level in the fuel
tanks. The conductive type or float sensor senses the fuel level of the fuel tank in the
vehicle. This sensing signal is given to the microcontroller unit. In our 12 volt power
supply is used. The power supply output is given to the control unit. Control unit is
having the alarm unit which is activated when the fuel level is very low condition.
Initially the reference voltage is set with the help of the variable resistance.

ADVANTAGES
The Engine fuel level are indicated on LCD display
Controls unit is on/off function of the alarm unit.
When fuel level goes below the set level, the alarm unit is ON.

DISADVANTAGES
This method of sensing is low accuracy
