Background of the Company

Founded in 1973 in Georgia USA and is the


worlds largest manufacturer of modular carpet
for commercial and residential applications.

Zero with a goal of eliminating any negative
impact the company may have on the
environment by 2020.

BUT HOW DO THEY DO THAT?
The companys progress toward becoming a sustainable corporation
is due to some key aspects, including successful leadership,
innovation, employee training ,etc. Interface Inc. made their
sustainability commitment in 1994, applied ESA model and created
a seven-point plan to fulfill their commitment of being a sustainable
enterprise.

Building
In May 2006 Interface was ranked twenty-fourth in Business Ethics magazines top 100
Best Corporate Citizens list. In November 2006 Interface announced that its new Chinese
facility in Shanghai had received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
gold certification from US Green Building Council. The Interface facility of building IN
China to receive this certification. The design of building helped in such sustainability
issues as water conservation, energy efficiency eye.
