How to repair the B counter?

Question

The B-counter (total image counter) is not correct and I want to repair this . How can I repair
the B counter?

It is recommend to use XML Notepad, however the Windows Notepad can also be used .
Download and install XML Notepad

Download the backup from the device :
Make sure to make a backup of the downloaded backup . (e.g. copy to your desktop)
Open the backup zip file
Select backup.xml, right mouse click and click on Edit with XML Notepad .
If you use Windows Notepad as editor continue at number 10.

Search for the following string ATTR_BILLING_TOTAL_IMAGE_COUNTER

Update the value of the counter after the sting , to the correct B counter value, e.g. in the next
example the value is updated from 646195to 6200999 If the B counter Value is unknown ,
calculate this value by using the next formula :
B (total image) = C + 2 * D
(Equal to the A counter but only when the Size multiplier has never been adjusted = 2)
Billing counter C
Number of A4-like simplex/duplex counts
Billing counter D
Number of A3-like simplex/duplex counts

Click on SAVE

Close XML Notepad. Continue at number 13.

and close Windows Notepad .

13 WinZip will ask you if you want to update the archive , Select YES. If you do not get this
question, select the dialog of WinZip . If you still do not get the dialog , contact your SPM. Click
on the WinZip dialog

Select Yes
The backup is now updated with the new B counter value .
