Volunteer Code of Conduct

At The Common Ground Arts Society (CGAS), volunteers are


a valuable human resource and play an important role in
striving to meet the mission of the organization.
The Common Ground Arts Society commits to their volunteers by:
Offering a volunteer program that has adequate resources, is well
managed and has the appropriate infrastructure to ensure volunteers
are working in a safe and supportive environment.
Ensuring every volunteer receives a thorough orientation and training.
At this training, the mission of the organization will be clearly
communicated.
Providing the necessary supervision and accessible support to ensure
that volunteers can fulfill their commitment to the organization.
Providing volunteers with a detailed, current volunteer position
description that clearly outlines the volunteer roles and the way
volunteers will give and receive feedback.
Creating an environment where there is an open communication, a
sense of teamwork and a respect for diversity between volunteers,
artists and staff.
Providing ongoing opportunities to learn and grow including the
opportunity to experience various positions while volunteering with
the organization.
Recognizing volunteers for their contributions and accomplishments in
both formal and informal ways.

As a volunteer at The 2nd Annual Found Festival, the


volunteers act as ambassadors of The Common
Ground Arts Society.
Because of this important role, volunteers are expected to:
Participate in orientation and training
Work within the boundaries of their volunteer position, while
supporting the vision, mission and policies outlined by the
organization
Take ownership for actions and decisions made while volunteering
Approach volunteer assignments as a professional commitment
Provide feedback to CGAS staff on any concerns, possible
improvements, and positive experiences
Promote a team spirit by respecting differences in people, valuing
diversity of opinion and working with others to achieve the goals of
the organization
Value the importance of providing exceptional quality service to the
patrons

shows, and an exciting artist-volunteer Closing Night Party).

ARTIST AGREEMENT

This ARTIST AGREEMENT made this (DATE)_______________ between The Common Ground Arts
Society, (herein called CGAS) and (YOUR NAME) ___________________ (herein called THE ARTIST)
1.

AGREEMENT OF ENGAGEMENT. CGAS hereby engages THE ARTIST. THE ARTIST hereby
accepts the engagement for the services stipulated to the terms and conditions of this engagement
contract.

2.

The engagement consists of:

a) PERFORMANCE: THE ARTIST will attend all performances for their FOUND FESTIVAL piece,
happening between June 27-June 30, 2013.

PAYMENT: THE ARTIST agrees that the payment that the artist will a $50.00 honorarium for the
performance run.

4. CANCELLATION OF AGREEMENT: THE ARTIST agrees to the following terms of cancellation:


(a) Should cancellation of agreement by THE ARTIST occur after June 1st, 2013 and a suitable
replacement cannot be found, THE ARTIST agrees to pay CGAS a fee of $75.00 to cover the loss of
revenue that arises.

5. OTHER AGREEMENTS: THE ARTIST also agrees to:
(a) Attend all rehearsals, performances, and other events in conjunction with the FOUND FESTIVAL

displaying a professional, positive attitude.

(b) Contribute to the artistic growth of the production as a professional.


(c) Assist in the promotion of the festival, including poster distribution, handbilling, social media updates,
and word of mouth support
6. CGAS RESPONSIBLITIES: The Common Ground Arts Society agrees to:
(a) Pay THE ARTIST an honorarium for participation.
(b) Provide promotional and supplementary materials to advertise and sell THE FOUND FESTIVAL.
(c) Provide regular updates as to changes in venue, scheduling, etc.
(d) DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO MAKE THIS PROCESS AS FUN, RAUCOUS AND
PROFESSIONAL AS POSSIBLE!
