Marking
Equipment needs:
4 soccer balls; 8 cones; 2 big cones to mark soccer goals.
Warm up: Directional 2 v 1 toward goal
Task Set up
Defender passes ball to attackers; attackers take on passive defender
(attempts to stop/re-direct), attempting to get past end line w/ ball
(under control)
Rotation: Defender goes to attacker line; attackers gets ball and goes to defender line
extension - semi - active defender (can steal ball from pass)
Refinement: Attacker make sure you draw defender to you then pass it to your teammate
Task 2: Stationary Shooting - Inside Drive Shot
Task Set up
Shooting to wall/fence from 10 yds.
Description: Line up 10 yds. from wall/fence and shoot to area
Instructional Cues
1. Plant foot to target
2. Toe down
Ankle locked
3. Square up
4. Contact with Shoelaces
5. Toe to target
Extension - increase distance to 15 yds.
Application: Pick a spot on wall/fence, how many times can you hit that spot out 5? When you
can hit 3 out of 5, move back 5 yds.
Extension - Dribble 2-3 touches and shoot to target

Task 6: Throw In
Thrower may not touch the ball a second time until it has been touched by another player.
A goal cannot be scored directly from a throw-in.
Task 7: 3 v 2 (shoot on goal play throw-in)
Set up: 2 goals on opposite sides of field (short field)
Three offensive players attack a goal attempting to score. Two defensive players try to win the
ball. If defense takes ball away they must first trap the ball in order to maintain possession. If
team scores then ball moves back to mid-field to restart play.

Achieve the maximum number of goals in two 60-second trials
Application Description
This is a 3 vs. 2 competition, with three offensive players and two defensive players. The offense
must begin play from the center cone by passing the ball to a teammate. After the ball is in play,
the offense must attempt to pass the ball to one another in an attempt to score a goal. Prior to
each shot, the offensive player must successfully trap and then dribble the ball. If the defense
intercepts, tackles, or otherwise disrupts offensive play, the offense retains possession and must
restart play at the center cone. Additionally, if a goal is scored, the offense must restart at the
