Many Jewish people resisted in the Holocaust. As a result they were captured, and more
likely killed. Some tried to hide from anyone that could turn them in. Others fought back against
the Nazis. The Jewish people fought for their families in order to not go down without a fight,
and they normally didnt surrender.
Many Jewish people began fighting back, to help their families. For example, Most
Jewish armed resistance took place after 1942, as a desperate effort, after it became clear to
those who resisted that the Nazis had murdered most of their families and their
coreligionists.(Evidence 1). These people fought for their once alive families. They didnt seem
to care about the dangers of resisting. For instance, Thousands of Jews escaped from the
ghettos and joined partisan units in nearby forests.(Evidence 1). They had escaped from the
closed off places so that they could come back later. Some would come back and fight, or go to
other places to fight. Others didnt want to fight, But they fought for the sake of Jewish honor
and to avenge the slaughter of so many Jews.(Evidence 1). Everyone was affected by this war.
So everyone had a reason to fight it. They didnt just fight for families and honour they also just
wouldnt go down without a fight.

Most Jewish people thought they should help fight against the Nazis. For example, Jews
formed armed resistance groups only after they realized there was no possible escape from the
Nazis aim of total annihilation.( Evidence 2). They armed themselves so that they could have
more of a chance. For instance, the Jewish Fighting Organization fought against German
forces and Ukrainian collaborators on 17 May 1943.(Evidence 2). They had many battles
against the Nazis. Some didnt work as well as others. They also planned their attacks carefully.
For example, Jewish Fighting Organization decided against staging an uprising inside the
ghetto(Evidence 2). This wouldve probably been a bad idea to have an uprising in a closed off
place where people of all ages lived. The Jewish people didnt seem to go down without a fight,
but they also didnt surrender when beaten.
The Jewish people didnt really surrender. They all fought for a reason. For example,
Those who did resist either by running from the trains or attacking their captors faced certain
death(Evidence 3). Sometimes they werent given the choice to live. Most times they were just
killed. The few times this didnt happen some surrendered, but Others chose to take their own
lives when faced with the hopelessness of the situation.(Evidence 3). They didnt want to give
up to the Nazis. They seemed to rather die than to surrender. Some had other plans. For instance,
For others, deciding not to commit suicide but rather to make an attempt at survival amidst the
hopelessness and despair of this situation was their resistance (Evidence 3). They would resist
even more, in order to get away. Only sometimes did this work. The Jewish people Fought for
their families, to not go down without a fight and they didnt surrender.
The Jewish people fought for their families, for a chance, and they didnt surrender. They
resisted for the people who died and the ones they wanted to protect. They fought to protect

basically everyone against the Nazis. The Jewish people resisted in an attempt to save lives of
others.
