Dear Parents/Guardians,

Greetings. My name is Kat Marusich and I will be student teaching in your

childs class with Mrs. Dignan for the rest of the year. I am a student at the
University of California, Irvine and I am working toward completing my teaching
credential at the end of this term. I was previously student teaching in a fifth grade
classroom and I am looking forward to the opportunity of working with your
kindergartners.
I was born and raised in a small town in Northern California and completed
my undergraduate degree at Chapman University in Orange. I hold a bachelor's
degree in education. In my free time I enjoy surfing, relaxing at the beach, and hiking
local trails. I enjoy taking my camera with me everywhere to capture the beauty of
places I visit.
This spring is going to be so much fun and I am very excited to begin teaching
in kindergarten. One specific subject I am looking forward to teaching is science,
particularly life science. We are going to be covering the butterfly and frog life cycles
soon and I cannot wait to share this curriculum with your child. We are going to be
raising butterflies and studying them as they transform from caterpillars to winged
beauties. We are also going to observe the amazing change tadpoles undergo to
become frogs. We will document the different stages of each animals life cycle and
incorporate creative art projects into the learning process.
I have spent several days observing in the classroom and getting to know the
students this past week. I look forward to meeting with you and working with your
kindergartner throughout the rest of the school year.

Sincerely,

Ms. Marusich
