Senior Privileges Contract

The following Senior Privileges will be granted to the class of 2016. Privileges are just thatthey are not
rights and are not guaranteed. They are granted by the administration in recognition of your outstanding work
and your transition from student to adulthood. However, seniors must accept responsibility for these privileges
and act accordingly. Failure to demonstrate appropriate responsibility with regards to these privileges may
lead to the revocation of these privileges, either for a period of time or indefinitely. The privileges agreed upon
include:
Senior Courtyard. The courtyard area will be reserved for use by seniors exclusively during lunch, before
school, and after school. This use is to be self-policed. Seniors must maintain the courtyard (keep it clean
and free of debris) and should not expect that the administration will monitor who is using the
courtyard. Seniors must not use threats, harassment, etc. to keep others out of the courtyard but should seek
assistance when needed.
Senior Exam Exemption. Seniors are eligible for exam exemptions based on the HCPS policy.
Senior Parking. All seniors who request parking will be granted a parking spot, so long as space is available.
Seniors will also have a reserved parking space near the exit of the school.
2 Minutes Early Lunch Release. Seniors will be allowed to leave 2 minutes early to lunch. Please note that
this is at the discretion of the teacher. Should the teacher wish for the senior to remain in class (e.g.,
instruction is ongoing), the senior must remain.
10 Minute Friday Dismissal. Seniors will be allowed to leave 10 minutes early on Fridays. Please note that
this is at the discretion of the teacher. Should the teacher wish for the senior to remain in class (e.g.,
instruction is ongoing), the senior must remain. Seniors who leave early must exit the school and the parking
lot immediately and with proper decorum (quietly, heeding parking lot regulations). In the event of an earlyrelease day on a Friday, students will still be able to leave 10 minutes early.
5 Minute Monday-Thursday Dismissal. Seniors will be allowed to leave 5 minutes early Monday-Thursday.
Please note that this is at the discretion of the teacher. Should the teacher wish for the senior to remain in class
(e.g., instruction is ongoing), the senior must remain. Seniors who leave early must exit the school and the
parking lot immediately and with proper decorum (quietly, heeding parking lot regulations). In the event of an
early-release day Monday-Thursday, students will still be able to leave 5 minutes early.
Halloween. Only seniors will be allowed to be in costume for Halloween (however, masks are not
appropriate). All costumes must meet the student dress code as outlined in the Code of Student Conduct.
Study Hall. Seniors with Study Hall at 6th or 7th block will be allowed to leave early. They must complete the
permission form to be distributed. (Students with 1st or 2nd block study halls must report to school on time.)
This privilege will begin once a permanent early dismissal pass has been issued to the student from Miss
Niemeier.
Winter Break Spirit Week. Seniors will be able to participate during the Winter Spirit Week as long as the
costumes meet the HCPS Dress Code Requirements. More information on the spirit days will be coming soon.
